EBG MedAustron GmbH in Wiener Neustadt operates one of the most modern centers for particle therapy and research in Europe. Cancer patients are treated with an innovative form of radiation therapy with protons and carbon ions. In addition to cancer treatment the facility is also used for translational research.

Our Medical Device Safety team is responsible for the safety architecture of the Therapy Accelerator, the compliance to medical standards and patient safety critical systems.

Become part of the Medical Device Safety team as a

Systems Engineer Medical Hard- and Software (f/m/x)

40 hours per week, limited duration until December 2024

Challenges you conquer:

• Participate in the development of a safety critical subsystem of a particle therapy accelerator
• Follow up on component development with other teams and suppliers
• Build up a test environment for integration testing and commissioning
• Contribute to technical product documentation needed for certification, installation, commissioning and operations
• Support installation and commissioning at the customer's site (mainly remotely)
• Support operations of the MedAustron accelerator facilities

A background that impresses:

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or comparable
• Minimum of 3 years of occupational experience in software or hardware development
• Good understanding of complex systems (e.g. interplay between multiple soft- and hardware systems)
• Programming skills in Python, VHDL, C++, C#, LabView are an asset
• Ideally knowledge of safety standards (EN/IEC 60601, 62304) and state of the art safety technology
• Fluent in verbal and written communication in English; German is an advantage
• You are a creative and proactive person that is driven by self-initiative and keep the overview over different tasks
• Willing to fulfill shift work and on-call support

For the advertised position we offer a gross annual salary from € 45.000,-- (on a full-time basis) with the possibility of overpayment, depending on professional qualifications and experience.
